More Katrina relief poker
Sep. 8th, 2005 02:03 amSo just another advisory, it looks like more and more charity online poker tournaments are popping up to raise money for Katrina relief. I really want to play in one of the PokerStars tourneys I was mentioning earlier, but it's hell trying to actually get some money in there. (Not their fault, really...they just don't use any money transfer agents that make it easy for me, and I am currently a man of rather dubious paperwork.) Anyway, I just caught wind some more stuff going on being hosted by Phil Hellmuth on UltimateBet.com. Now...I'm not a great Hellmuth fan, nor really UBet, for that matter, but the intent is good and there are some neat prizes. (Dinner with Annie Duke, baby...dinner with Annie Duke.) Anyway, if that should tickle your fancy, some more info is here.
What really kills me is that PartyPoker apparently held a charity tournament today, and I fucking missed it because I didn't fucking know about it! Smooth, Party...I even played there on Monday and not a peep! And that's one place I know I can get money to. Oh, well, though...missed opportunity. Anyway...if anyone's a UBet person, there's that, and there's still PokerStars.
Shit...I should just come back to New York and we can have our own damn charity tournament. Who's down? :)
