Why symbologists are completely nuts
Dec. 4th, 2007 12:39 amI have been treated to, I believe, the greatest entry ever at symbols.com, a website devoted to an encyclopedic collection of...well...symbols. This is not an excerpt. This is an entry in its entirety:
"This prehistoric sign was found on one of the walls in the Marsoulas cave in Haute-Garonne in France. Some 15,000 years later this same sign appears on the trousers of a hangman about to execute someone in a sixteenth-century Flemish painting."
For realz. I mean...someone's got to keep track of this stuff. Right? Right?
