I waited a day to post this just to add to the authenticity, but let it be known: as of yesterday, the California Project has been concluded. Peace!

Horrible day at the office today, my pretties, so I thought I'd just blog a couple little happy things to turn that frown upside-down.

For quite a while now, I thought I'd lost my copy of the Bad Religion album Recipe for Hate. I was pretty sad about this, but after hunting high and low for quite a while, I found no sign of it. Eventually I just gave it up for lost; I figured I misplaced it on a trip somewhere. The other day, though, while digging through some of my boxes looking for something completely unrelated, I turned up the CD sleeve and insert for the album, but no actual CD. This gave me a lot of hope, though, as well as a clue, since what that really meant was...since I had the sleeve laying around, I could have left the CD in a player or something. My player turned out to be empty, though, but that really just left one possibility. See...if I switch CDs in my player but don't have the right sleeve handy, I usually tuck the old CD into the other side of some other CD's sleeve, behind the insert. So a little bit of combing through some of my other CD sleeves and...bingo! So I'm pleased to report that Recipe for Hate has returned to its rightful, labeled place in my CD library, and I can once again listen to "American Jesus" any time I want. In fact, I think I'll do it right now. Yay!

So, another thing. A little while back I picked up some used copies of two seasons of Chappelle's Show on DVD. That's what I thought I picked up, I should say, but what I actually ended up with was a random collection of Chappelle's Show DVDs, some duplicates, some missing, and all pretty badly thrashed. Just recently, though, I popped in Disc 2 of Season 2, just because hope springs eternal, and it turns out that that particular disc played all the way through with no problem. This made me happy mostly because that one holds a couple of my very favorite bits from the show, including the "Kneehigh Park" Sesame Street parody, and of course, who doesn't love "Is Wayne Brady gonna have to choke a bitch?" Score!

And just today, I got a nice pin that [livejournal.com profile] jammie718 sent me that's apparently been sitting around waiting for me for quite some time now. In her words, we're talking "circa 1996" here, so it calls me back to a younger, simpler, better time, when I was chilling with all my peeps and living it up in that carefree and irresponsible manner that is so satisfying and seems so much easier when you're young. So thanks for that, Jamz, and thanks to all my peoples for giving me so much goodness to look back on. You guys rock! Bring back the day!

In other happy news, [livejournal.com profile] panyang should be getting back stateside any time now, and she's gonna swing by and visit me here in SoJo, so I'm looking forward to that, too. Lounging rules!

Okay...that's probably it for now. Thanks for taking this time with me, everyone. I know I feel better, and I hope you do, too. I'm gonna try and kick back and relax now, and those obnoxious scum-spawn that call themselves poker players can rot in the fiery pits of the Hell of Bad Beats forever, for all I care. Ciao!
