Not a remarkable day today. Kept on top of my chore list; didn't get as much poditing done as I had planned, which is something I should come to expect by now. Well, I'd rather fix it than expect it, so I guess that's something. :) Also the first week where I'm trying out a new organizational method, not that I expect that to be big impact productivity-wise; it's more just a chance for me to try to manage my backlog in a more pleasing way. I dunno, man. Productivity analysis and adjustment has never really been my strong suit, I don't think. I just want to...sit down and do stuff. Eventually...tasks get completed. I don't have a desire or use for metrics on this count, I don't think. Probably why I'm not that productive. ;)
Standout news from online life today is probably Tumblr's announced ban on sex stuff, which is already causing outcry, mass exodus, predictions of its collapse...the usual. I guess I tried with Tumblr some years back...it never really stuck for me. There were only one or two people I was interested in keeping up with who were Tumblr mains, and I never really got into the swing of hanging out there, so...eh. This disturbance in the Force doesn't impact me hugely. Still...it's a thing. It seems to be driving people largely to Dreamwidth (funnily enough, given my own recent return) and Mastodon. This seems like a bigger deal for Dreamwidth than the Google+ exodus however many months ago, and I've honestly been surprised at the move to Mastodon. That might be more of a niche thing; the tabletop.social instance, at least, seems to be taking on Tumblr refugees like whoa, so maybe it has something to with tabletop circles. I feel bad I haven't been paying much attention to Mastodon, but Twitter is a tough beast to shake. Maybe this will push me toward more Mastodon usage. I should try it more as a parallel to Twitter than a replacement.
In my darkest heart of hearts, I'm waiting for all platforms to fail. I know people get up in arms about fragmenting, but I'm happier with millions of tiny spaces than just a handful of monolithic spaces. It just takes some connectivity between the smaller spaces to instill a sense of community, but I'd be a happier camper if everything was just RSS feeds and like, I dunno, some kind of OpenID-like system. Whatever...I don't run this show. It will be what it will be. Every few years there will be the collapse of Friendster or MySpace or Twitter, and some new Whatevertron will rise from the ashes, then that will collapse, and there will be much gnashing of teeth. Eh. I just can't get excited about it anymore. We'll find a way. It's just always a little gratifying to me when the big boys tumble.
That took a turn. Not entirely sure where my head's at tonight. Therapy tomorrow; it's been a couple weeks, since we skipped last week. Maybe then we'll see where my head's at. :)
Decent day today stomach-wise. Started the day fine, and only had a small bout of light nausea in the afternoon...a bit after lunch? Basically went away with a single Tums and some time. The lightheadedness and general feel that accompanied it still leaves me thinking this is a blood sugar thing. Lots of work to do before I can feel good about self-evaluation on that front. Efforts continue.
Uneventful day. Most are. I feel like most entries are going to be like this. I'm wondering if this daily blogging thing is really such a good idea. It's just that...if I don't do it, then when there is something noteworthy, then I forget to blog about it. :) So it goes.
