Okay, gonna try something new. Or...I'm transitioning to something new, anyway, since I kind of forgot today. :) But ANYway, I thought I might try blogging more or less at the start of the day instead of the end, and see how that goes. Kinda doing midday today, though, since, like I said, I kinda forgot this morning that I was going to try the switch, but whatever. :)
So...today is Wednesday, and I also last blogged on Wednesday, so I've got about a week to catch up on. Even so, this should be a pretty quick catchup. Thursday was basically just pack and travel day for heading up to Breakout. I got a later start than I originally envisioned, mostly owing to me having not prepared or packed at all, so Thursday morning I packed up, then midday I finally got rolling, picked up Meg, and we headed on up to Breakout. We made decent time and didn't hit any major slowdowns or anything, and I managed to not get lost on the way, so that was fine. Good trip, and we basically listened to the whole backlog of Session Zero, which is quite good. It was a long enough drive and we got in late enough that I basically went straight to bed, though I did swing by Base Camp and said hi to a few MM people, but mostly I just showered and went to bed.
Friday through Sunday was the con proper, which was, as expected, good fun. I scheduled so much that I didn't have much hangout time. I played seven games total: three on Friday, three on Saturday, and one on Sunday, with the idea that I'd just head out Sunday midday and drive back home. That mostly worked out, except I got moving a little later than expected on Sunday and got lost in Canada which took some time out of my trip (this was a combination of my phone crapping out and me forgetting that the car had GPS of its own - sigh). I got home pretty late on Sunday, I think after 2, and just crashed out. More detailed con reports hopefully to come on Dodecahedroid, but I haven't gotten around to that yet. I'm not in a huge rush, but I also don't want to let it sit too long. As I recall, it took me like a month to get to my Metatopia recaps, so I don't want to repeat that if I can help it. But, yeah, in brief: good con.
Monday was recovery day. I did manage to unpack, which was amazing. I should have spent time doing catchup, but that didn't happen, so now that's kind of an albatross I have to deal with now. Honestly I think I spent most of the day watching TV, but I didn't get my full sleep complement, so I was pretty zoned the whole day. I think I also ran some grocery errands that day, and I also got the car washed, since as you might imagine, it was looking pretty road-weary by then.
Tuesday, yesterday, was a decently focused work day. I got a GS edit done (mostly) that I needed for this week, so that's good to get done. I've got TH this week, too, and I was hoping to get some FaFDM worked on this week as well to get a jump on next week, but I won't beat myself up if I don't get to it.
Speaking of that, I was originally thinking I'd jump right into TH today, but last night I had second thoughts and decided to prioritize chores and catchup today. So far, I've hit the chores (capped off by this post, I guess), and then I hope to work on catchup. I've got just a smidge of GS to finish to completely put a button on it, but if I can finish inboxing today, I'll consider that a day well-spent. If by some miracle I finish with time left over, maybe I can get a start on TH. However, I also have a wee hours airport dropoff to do, so I have NO idea what tomorrow is going to be like. I may have to slot it some supplemental sleep in there somewhere.
Ha! On that note, I just got the extra audio I needed to finish up GS, so I'm gonna do that, and then go into inboxing. Guess tomorrow morning we'll see how things went!
EDIT: Forgot to mention: over the course of the con, I think my knee got a lot better. At some point during the weekend I was able to just get by without NSAIDs at all, and I think by this point I pretty much have full mobility back. I think that means I'll start looking at hitting the gym again soon, maybe next week. This time maybe I'll look into something a little lower-impact to start off with. :)
