Broke quarantine
Apr. 2nd, 2020 09:27 pmGonna try and keep this brief, since there's still shit I want to do, but I at least wanted to get a blog post out.
Oh, wait. Today is Thursday.
That's halfway notable because I didn't post yesterday, although astute readers will note that today's date is April 2, so yesterday was my traditional Stay Off The Internet Day, although I think a April Fools shenanigans were kept to a minimum this year, which is for the best.
Anyway. The big deal for today was that we passed the 14-day mark for quarantine, so we finally broke back into the outside world today and stocked up on groceries. Gotta restart the counter on that, I guess. :) But between the actual event, the complicated decontamination and other logistics that followed, and the amount of beat I felt after all was said and done, that was pretty much my day right there. It wasn't everything. I got some MM editing done this morning, and then I finished it up tonight while T is with her mom and Gb, so at least I got that.
Wait, lemme do a little sidebar. The whole thing with extra logistics and T visiting family is related to the quarantine break and all. It goes like this. T is extra worried about her mom, so the driving force behind the extra quarantine measures were to make sure we were clear so that we had a...I guess a baseline? kinda?...to start from before T had contact with her mom (which is also where Gb is quarantining). So we've been doing the 2-week thing to allow for incubation time and whatever, and at this point we're both still symptom-free, so T now feels we can safely assume non-contaminated as of two weeks ago. Then at this point we take careful measures when we go out and stuff, and going out and stuff was today's trip to the supermarket, where we both replenished our own larders and also went shopping for the kids so that T's mom didn't have to go out in the world. So that's where we are with that.
So anyway. Yesterday I meant to get work done, but, like...I didn't, really? I got a little bit done on MM, but then an emergency edit came in which I took care of. It was a small job -- didn't take long at all -- but the MM stuff had a lot of waiting time when I got back to it, because I had to pick up some video edits and that shit takes forever. Anyway...one thing led to another, and I basically ended up just hanging out with T most of the day while video edits were processing and junk.
So...that put me kinda a day behind where I wanted to be, and then losing most of today put me another day behind, so I'm gonna try and play some catchup tomorrow, and then I guess I'll be putting in some more pod mining hours this weekend again. Other than that, though, things have been kinda...I dunno. The same? Trundling along. I'm just tired today. It was a stressful outing.
I said I was going to keep this short, but I'm just rambling. It's a bit early yet, and I'm gonna see if I can get some inboxing done or something, but mentally I've pretty much checked out. I just wanted to get the blog post in to commemorate the grocery trip. And I guess for posterity, here's a pic of what that looked like. Wild times these are.
