Interestingly, this week is a better example of what I wanted out of a betting system than last week, despite my more mediocre results. See...last week you couldn't help but make money, considering the system picked a bunch of winners. This week, though, the percentage of winners picked was right about on the line with random, but I made money anyway because of the dogs that came through. (And, may I just say, go Raiders. ;) ) For some reason, I find that more exciting than just a straight up big money win. Although...that probably has to do with there not actually being any money involved with this. ;) Anyway, I'm two for two for positive return overall. Sweet!

The biggest unexpected X-factor for me this week were the OFF games. I don't know enough about sports betting to know why it happened, but there were three games that didn't offer moneylines, so they didn't factor into my results. (For those keeping score, though, the system was 1 for 3 for picking winners in those games. Also...I'm guessing that since the Bears not only devoured, but also pooped out and buried, the 49ers, that the Bears were a big favorite, and I wouldn't have made back much against my other two losses. In effect, the OFF games saved me some money.) I don't know if this is a common thing or not, but a quick glance tells me that it may come up again this week. Whatever the reasoning, it's just one more piece of randomness in this system that I don't know anything about, so I'm just going to let it go and factor it into the cost of doing business.

INTRODUCTION
Really not a lot to go over. By this time, I think all the teams have been evaluated, so any novelties in analysis will be pretty infrequent from here on out. I guess that's a big drawback to this system. Nonetheless, I shall carry on. Special bonus this week: Pick poetry! Read on...

Hello, friends. Well, I'm trying to at least keep an entry going up each weekend, just so I don't completely fall off the map, but I have to confess...I feel like I have less and less to blog about each time. I also meant to get more of a jump on things this weekend, because I've found that watching football basically makes me useless on Sundays, so if I'm going to get things done, I should get them done on Saturday. :) Sadly, though, that didn't really happen, so...whaddaya gonna do. I'll just try a little multitasking. :)

I actually thought things would slow down a bit for me this week, since I've only got half-days at school. Somehow, though, I've found myself with not quite as much spare time as I expected. Part of that is my twice-weekly poker dealing practice sessions after school, which sort of turns that into a whole day affair. Also, though, I've been pitching in more around the house. This week, for example, I've spent my free afternoons painting a new fence. (The proverbial white picket fence is, in this case, an actual white picket fence. Or, rather, it's an actual picket fence, which I am in the process of making white.)

Alongside my surprising lack of free time has also been a surprising lack of accomplishment with NaNoWriMo. I really thought I was going to get off to a good start this time around, but thus far I've found the well to be pretty dry. I blocked off a few solid hours for myself yesterday which would have been perfect for writing, but once I sat down, I realized that, despite having an idea for a world to write in, I really didn't have anything to write about. In a nutshell, I find myself unprepared for this. While I thought I had enough in my head that I could at least get started, I realize now that I'm not even close. :) So my "writing" time, or at least the balance that I didn't completely waste on TV, was used instead on an attempt to get together some kind of outline or notes or...well, preparation of any kind, really. :) I do think that once I find a direction or something, hopefully I can crank out some words pretty quickly. But as things stand...yeah, wasn't ready. Oops. :)

Other than that...I don't guess I have a lot to talk about. This schedule that involved early rising is basically a pain in the ass, but I'll live. I basically spend Monday and Tuesday a little sleep deprived and weird, but otherwise I think it's okay. The other day I woke up from a dream where I was making out with a housecat. That one stuck with me for a while. :/ I haven't been able to spend a lot of time online these days, either; I basically keep up with a really stripped-down version of my friends page these days. But without feeds or anything, I basically have no idea what's going on out there in the world. :)

And with that, I think I'll pack it in for now. But not before offloading a few things from the queue. One was from a while ago, but I never got around to posting it. For those who don't know, PostSecret is a project in which random people out there make these homemade postcards with their secrets written on them, and they send them in to get posted on the Internet. It often has a lot of poignant and thought-provoking stuff in there, but this one just makes me laugh out loud. I love it! Unrelatedly, this is just super funny.

Anyway, that's all for now. Peace out, everybody. Happy football-watching. Smell ya later!
